North East Indian Linguistics Society
The 13th international conference of the North East Indian Linguistics Society (NEILS) will be held from 6 to 8 February 2025 in Kohima, Nagaland, India. It will be hosted by the department of Tenyidie at Nagaland University.
Note: Recent news about the re-introduction of Protected Area Permits (PAP’s) are not expected to have any impact on our conference. As of January 17th, 2025, international participants will not require a permit, however, they must register with the police when entering either through the airport or train station.

To present a paper at the conference, please prepare an abstract of no more than 500 words
(exclusive of data and references, if any). Please write your abstract using only Times New
Roman, 12pt. In the first line(s), give the full title of your paper; below it give your name and
affiliation (e.g., [Stephen Morey (La Trobe University)]; below it leave one line empty; and
below that, give the abstract, followed by references, if any. Examples/tables/figures should
be inserted where discussed, rather than at the end of the abstract.

Nagaland University is a Central University established in the state of Nagaland by an Act of Parliament by the Government of India in 1989. The headquarter is at Lumami, Zunheboto, and other campuses are spread across the state – at Kohima, and Medziphema.
The Kohima campus is spread over 240 acres and is located at Meriema, which is around 10 kms from the city center. Kohima campus houses 16 departments and 2 centres, and caters to around 300 Under-Grad, 1000 Post-Grad and Doctorols students, and Research Scholars.
